I was approached by Herbie, drummer and musician with UK-based rock band The Howling Tides, to create a T-shirt design for an upcoming festival appearance. The artwork needed to sit comfortably alongside the band’s existing visual identity, taking inspiration from the nautical imagery featured on their album artwork.

With this in mind, I developed an illustration that reflected the band’s established aesthetic while creating something designed specifically for the festival and its accompanying merchandise. The brief provided an opportunity to explore a different visual direction and to build upon the nautical themes already associated with the band’s music.

The project was an enjoyable one to work on, combining illustration with an existing visual language and creating a design that felt both connected to the band’s identity and distinctive in its own right.
