The 27 club

As part of a college project focused on developing storytelling skills as a designer, I chose to tell a personal story surrounding the number 27. The story began with a childhood belief that a seemingly haunted VCR was trying to tell me something. Whenever I looked at its clock, it would seemingly display the number 27. Years later, while working as a musician, I discovered the infamous 27 Club and its association with musicians who died at that age. The coincidence reignited my childhood obsession and became the basis for this project. I created a series of hand-drawn illustrations to support and visually communicate the story. The project was ultimately an exploration of storytelling through illustration, using personal experience, coincidence and visual imagery to create a narrative.
