SEX SELLS

editorial design

Sexual objectification has been a prominent feature of mainstream advertising for decades, and its influence continues to grow. In this 8-page mini-zine editorial, I explore the impact of sexualised imagery in advertising and how it can shape the way young people perceive themselves and others. The project aims to bring this often-overlooked issue to a younger audience, encouraging awareness and critical thinking around the unrealistic expectations created by advertising and popular media.Through a combination of photography and hand-drawn illustration, I have created a visually striking and accessible publication designed to capture attention while communicating the serious potential effects of these representations, including negative body image, low self-esteem, mental health difficulties and body dysmorphia.
